Hasta 1990 se arguía que los pacientes con esquizofrenia constituían casos irreversibles e irrecuperables, que poseían múltiples personalidades, que todos tenían los mismos síntomas y que la enfermedad podía ser incubada en medios familiares con madres hostiles e hipercríticas. Al respecto, los conceptos han cambiado en décadas recientes, aceptándose que los esquizofrénicos poseen una sola personalidad, que no todos tienen síntomas similares (algunos tienen falsas creencias fijas, delusiones y alucinaciones auditivas y visuales, otros expresiones emocionales disminuidas y algunos una mezcla de todo lo anterior), mientras que la presión familiar no incuba sino que solo acelera la recaída.
Por si fuera poco, Ronald Levant (Nova Southeastern University), Martin Harrow (University Illinois) y Thomas McGlashan (Yale University), sostienen que hasta un 30% de esquizofrénicos adecuadamente tratados se recuperan después de años o décadas, trabajando y funcionando independientemente, aunque queden con síntomas moderados (pensamiento confuso). Contribuyó a esta mejoría el empleo de medicamentos :Clozaril (clozapine), Risperdal (risperidone) y Zyprexa (olanzapine), modificadores de la acción de la dopamina y la serotonina, ciertas intervenciones psicológicas atenuadoras de delusiones y alucinaciones, terapia cognitiva para reestructurar ideas paranoides y pensamientos inadecuados, reduciendo el ambiente hostil familiar; mejorando rápidamente los previamente exitosos, los que tenían IQ elevado o aquellos en quienes la enfermedad emergió de súbito.
INTEROCEPTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS
Until recently it was thought that a net of brain cortical regions that included the insula and the cingulate anterior cortex (CAC) were the only substratum for interoceptive conscience (perception of internal state of our body: heart beats, breathing, heat, cold). Studying people with lesions in these brain areas destroyed by Herpes virus, using medications that accelerated the heart rate and anesthetizing thoracic dermal touch sensors related to heart sensations, Sahib Khalsa of the University of Iowa, showed that insula and CAC, are important but non critics for interoceptive conscience. Khalsa grants but well to a net of thoracic cutaneous touch sensors (somato-sensitive afferents of the skin), a basic role associated to the net that involves the insula and the CCA, questioning this way previous interoceptive theories.

Supersymmetry, which states that laws of particles are the same when they are changed from right to left (as in a mirror), looks altered in an experiment in which gold nuclei were bombarded with neutrons at nearly the speed of light mixing subparticles forming bubbles of quark-gluon plasma in a state similar to a nascent universe of a few microseconds old.
A process that ended up breaking the balance between matter and antimatter predominating at the end the matter, forming black holes, galaxies and our current universe. EGYPTIAN MUMMIES
A genetic, anthropological and tomographic analysis of 17 Egyptian mummies, including that of Tutankhamun, performed by a multinational group of researchers found that Tutankhamun that ascended the throne at age 9 and died at 19, likely died of malaria infested by Plasmodium falciparum (genetic traces of the parasite was identified and also substances to combat it in his grave). The analysis of weak and fragile bones coupled to the discovery of a cane suggest that he suffered from degenerative disease of Kohler II, non-fatal disorder that conditioned the fracture of one of his femurs (avascular bone necrosis), further complicated by fat embolism. The detailed analysis of their CT scans determined that he was not murdered. On the other hand, the analysis of 16 royal mummies helped the researchers to determine the pedigree of 5 generations of royal families kept in power from 1550 to 1295 BC. It was also determined that the father of Tutankhamun was Akhenaten or his successor Smenkhkare and that his mother was Kiya, a secondary wife of Akhenaten.

Trás realizar análisis genéticos, antropológicos, tomográficos y radiológicos a 17 momias egipcias incluyendo la de Tutankamon, un grupo multinacional de investigadores descubrió que Tutankamon que ascendió al trono a los 9 años y murió a los 19, posiblemente falleció de malaria infestado por Plasmodium falciparum (se identificaron trazas genéticas del parásito y tambien medicinas destinadas a combatirlo, en su tumba). El análisis de sus débiles y frágiles huesos aunados al hallazgo de un bastón sugieren que padecía de enfermedad degenerativa de Kohler II, desorden no fatal que condicionó la fractura de uno de sus fémures (necrosis ósea avascular), complicada ulteriormente por un embolismo graso. El análisis detallado de sus CT scans determinó que no fué asesinado. De otro lado, el análisis de 16 momias reales ha contribuído a determinar la genealogía de 5 generaciones de familias reales mantenidas en el poder desde 1550 a 1295 años a.C. Se ha determinado asimismo, que el padre de Tutankamon fué Akhenaten o su successor Smenkhkare y que su madre fué Kiya, una esposa secundaria de Akhenaten.

A compared controlled and randomized study allowed to establish the benefits in reduction of facial wrinkles using moisturized cosmetics in cream (niacinamide/peptide/retinyl propionate), in 99 women vs the standard gold régime of prescription containing 0•02 tretinoin%, applied to 97 women, some of which showed facial dermal intolerance. Although moisturized cosmetic creams are well tolerated, one shows off of them smaller effectiveness. After 2 months of treatment in women with periorbital wrinkles of moderate-severe grade, the well tolerated cosmetic régime improved significantly the appearance of facial wrinkles, with similar benefits to those exhibited by the employment of tretinoin after 24 weeks.

Un estudio comparado, controlado y randomizado permitió establecer los beneficios en la reducción de arrugas faciales empleando cosméticos en crema humectantes (niacinamide/peptide/retinyl propionate), en 99 mujeres versus el régimen standard de oro de prescripcion conteniendo 0•02% de tretinoin, aplicado a 97 mujeres, algunas de las cuales mostraron intolerancia dérmica facial. Aunque los cosméticos humectantes en crema son bien tolerados, se presume de ellos menor eficacia. Después de 2 meses de tratamiento a mujeres con arrugas periorbitarias de grado moderado-severo, el bien tolerado régimen cosmético mejoró significativamente la apariencia de las arrugas faciales, con beneficios similares a los exhibidos por el empleo de tretinoin después de 24 semanas.

En segundos el ALTB lo detecto mediante un rayo laser de baja energía y sensores propios. Para rastrearlo El ALTB disparó un segundo rayo laser capaz de compensar y medir disturbios atmosféricos. Finalmente el ALTB disparó contra el misil su High Energy Laser, calentando e inutilizando su estructura critica. Aunque el ALTB es de bajo costo y puede atacar varios blancos a la vez, su problema actual es que tiene dificultades para actuar con precisión mas alla de los 100 km. Todo hace preveer que la perfección del ALTB, tornara inútiles a muchos misiles y que la energía concentrada será el arma del futuro.

Contrarily if we are in danger of death or in boring situations (sat down in a waiting room), it happens slow, being deduced the possibility of manipulation of our feelings in order to alter our time perception.
For their side Mark Wittmann (Center of Mental Health of Freiburg) using functional magnetic resonance (fMRI), has identified an area of significant cerebral activation (insular cortex), while volunteers carried out estimates of their time. This cortex is the main area of processing of our body sensations. When we forget our body to be absorbed in exciting tasks the time flies. If we are threatened corporally (increased body sensations), the time maintains low pace.

To many observers such armament would have as goal to recover Taiwan, the renegade island allied of USA and to be ready before an eventual military confrontation with USA. The powerful Chinese intercontinental missile : DF-21 equipped with warheads, able to reach 2000 miles in less than 12 minutes and to demolish from the sea enemy carriers airplanes maintains in keels to the American Navy.
What was shown perhaps would be alone the tip of the iceberg because Chinese economic investment in armaments is incessant. Lo mostrado en la parada tal vez solo sea la punta del iceberg porque la inversion económica china en armamentos es incesante. El 2008 China gasto 150 billones de dolares americanos y el 2009 70 billones de dólares. Mencion aparte merece la inversión en capacidades estratégicas y espaciales. THE LANGUAGE OF THE LIFE

In The language of Life, Collins predicts the existence of a preventive medicine that took us to overcome the 100 year-old barrier in active form. For it he trusts that in the next 6 years will begin a personalized medicine based on the analysis (from a very early age), of our genomes the same ones that will suggest lifestyles, diets, election of enviromments, care of certain common illnesses (diabetes, heart affections, common cancers, mental affections, asthma, arthritis, etc). In fact all the illnesses have in last instance a hereditary component. He trusts that in a few years the sequence of any human genome will take a few hours and will cost less than 1000 dollars. This personalized medicine includes the employment of rational drugs based on the knowledge of molecular interactions instead of the current method of trial and error, a bigger employment of clinical electronic medical histories, predictive models of the illness, emphasis in the education of physicians and patients and a bigger bioethics discussion related to introduced innovations.

Segun un articulo del historiador Don Shelton publicado en el ultimo numero del Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, los médicos William Hunter y William Smellie mas que pioneros de la obstetricia habrían sido asesinos de gestantes entre 1749-1755. Comisionados para suministrar cuerpos a facultades de medicina realizaron los asesinatos para disecar cuerpos, estudiar los efectos fisicos del embarazo y desarrollar nuevas técnicas realizando cesareas secretas en mujeres recientemente muertas o inconscientes ya veces para extraer o revivir a nonatos. Segun Shelton ambos habrian asesinado unas 40 mujeres embarazadas y a sus nonatos.

NUMBER OF CHINESE SCIENTISTS
Official information refers that USA published in 2008: 340 000 pure scientific papers, China 112 000, Germany :90 000 and Japan: 80,000. Nevertheless, James Wilsdon’s proyections (British Royal Society), foresee that in 2020 China will be the number one producer of scientific articles, coming from their but of 750 universities and 1.5 million researchers. China tries now to generate research of great quality, to increase the number of its first xclass researchers and to build nets of scientific excellence with its peer of the rest of the world.
China exhibits achievements in sciences of space, paleontology, chemistry-physics of materials (crystallography and metallurgy), atomic investigation, physics of high energy, computation, etc, although it has yet a low number of patents and is back in basic research, astrophysics and physics of particles where just independent thought and international connections are generated. Regarding this last, 9% of the total of published Chinese articles has as co-authors to American, 3% to Japanese and 2,3% to German. Of another side, China offers attractive jobs to Chinese students that study abroad. Thanks to it China is passing from low cost manufactured products to others of superior quality shortening the qualitative distance exhibited by many European and American products (cars, for example).

Comparing 1994’s pictures with others taken during 2002-2003 revealed in Pluto the existence of distinct brilliant mottled areas : white, dark orange and black. According to Mike Brown, the plutonian surface acquired a widespread red color from 2000 to 2002, as a result of solar ultraviolet radiation acting on plutonian surface methane leaving a dark red residue rich in carbon. Northpolar brightest regions, resemble Earth poles when ice melts. The southern unenlightened hemisphere is darker. The fact that northern hemisphere is brighter is due to the eccentric orbit around the sun that allows Pluto kept far from the sun at certain moment and very close in another.
SUPERFICIE DE PLUTON
Aunque rústicas las fotos captadas por el Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS), instalada en el telescopio Hubble, develan aspectos inéditos de la superficie plutoniana relacionadas con sus estaciones y atmósfera. Comparando fotos de 1994 con otras obtenidas durante 2002-2003 se revela en Plutón, la existencia de áreas moteadas de distinta brillantéz : blancas, anaranjado oscuro y negro betún. Según Mike Brown, la superficie plutoniana adquirió un color rojo generalizado entre el 2000 a 2002, a consecuencia de la radiación ultravioleta solar actuando sobre el metano superficial plutoniano dejando un color rojo oscuro rico en residuos de carbono. Las regiones norpolares mas brillantes, semejan a la Tierra cuando el hielo formado se derrite. El hemisferio sur no iluminado es más oscuro. El que el hemisferio norte sea mas brillante se debe a la órbita excéntrica alrededor del sol que permite a Plutón mantenerse muy alejado del sol en determinado momento y muy cercano en otro.

The futurist race to use alternating energy sources has begun with force. In a previous note we commented the efforts of China to become the world but important supplier of renewable energy equipments. Now, the American president Obama bets to winner in the same item: to use bigger biofuel volume, bigger capture of CO2, more eolic energy, less emissions of CO2, more nuclear plants, bigger use of sun energy, bigger employment of coal, bigger scientific investigation in this field, etc. The American Energy Working Group, hopes to produce the 2022 :136 billion liters of bioethanol (at the moment: 45 billions liters) and to reduce in about 5.9 billions tons, the emissions of CO2 (2.3%), aspiring this way to depend less on oil, to create but work sources, assuring the future of America. La carrera futurista por emplear fuentes energéticas alternas se ha iniciado con fuerza. En una nota previa comentábamos los esfuerzos de China por convertirse en el proveedor mundial mas importante de equipos de energía renovable. Ahora, el presidente americano Obama apuesta a ganador en el mismo rubro: emplear mayor volumen de biofuels, mayor captura de CO2, mas energía eólica, menos emisiones de CO2, mas plantas nucleares, mayor uso de la energía solar, mayor empleo de carbón, mayor investigación científica en esta area, etc. El Energy Working Group americano, espera producir el 2022 :136 billones de litros de bioetanol (actualmente: 45 billlones de litros) y reducir en unos 5.9 billones de toneladas, las emisiones de CO2 (2.3 %), aspirando asi a depender menos del petróleo, crear mas fuentes de trabajo, asegurando el futuro de America.
CHINESE RENEWABLE ENERGY
According to an article
published in the NYTimes, China has surpassed to USA, Germany, Denmark and Spain in the construction of wind turbines, solar panels, nuclear reactors, energy biomass and types but efficient of plants of coal, being possible that in the future many countries will be dependent of chinese
renewable technologies. Some companies like
Vestas (wind turbines), of Denmark, have settled down in China where they transfer technologies of high complexity. Thanks to China create 100,000 new jobs every year. The consumption of renewable energy is expensive for chinese average, but than coal energy. For that reason at the moment the export of these technologies is priority for the Chinese, keeping in mind the desireof USA and Europe to possess renewable energy at low cost.
ENERGIA RENOVABLE CHINA
Según un articulo aparecido en el NYTimes, China esta sobrepasando a USA, Alemania, Dinamarca en la construccion de turbinas de viento, paneles solares, reactores nucleares, biomasa energética y tipos mas eficientes de plantas de carbón, siendo posible que en el futuro muchos países sean dependientes de tecnologias renovables chinas. Algunas compañías como Vestas (turbinas de viento), de Dinamarca, se han establecido en China donde transfieren tecnologías de alta complejidad. Merced a ello China crea 100,000 trabajos cada año. El consumo de energia renovable es cara para el chino promedio, mas cara que la energía a carbón, por lo que de momento la exportación de estas tecnologías es prioridad para los chinos, teniendo en cuenta las ansias de USA y Europa por poseer energía renovable a bajo costo.
CUSCO AND NATURAL PHENOMENA
For 15 days intense rains, floods of populated areas, of agricultural fields, destruction of highways, bridges, houses, strong sea waves, death of animals and human, ceasing of tourist’s flows, economic breaks and until some seismic movements, maintain in psycho stress the Peruvian departments of Cusco, Puno, Apurimac, Tumbes, Ancash and others. Although it is clear that torrential rains have been caused by the heating of the surface of the usually cold Peruvian coastal sea, it is not known if the phenomenon is consequence of global heating or due to El Niño Phenomenon [ENSO (1): El Niño Southern Oscillation], of weak to moderate grade (2). Economic evaluations based on material damages and lost job positions, carried out for official of the regional governments of affected areas, estimate the losses in 1000 million dollars and thrice if the rains continue until March (4). Considering the ENSO like a cyclic phenomenon that happens with weak-moderate intensity every 3-4 years (since 11000 years) and of great intensity every 50 years, would be that accumulated losses during 100 years, would 100 000 million dollars
Then why not to invest?, let us to say 5000 million dollars in building preventively coastal, riverside, lacustrine dikes and efficient drainage systems in areas of peruvian high risk. The seismologist Julio Kiroiwua (3) that has directed the elaboration of maps to build peruvian viable cities sustains that the biggest error is to build cities urged by economic benefits but that for the necessity of living in harmony with the nature. To learn of the Incas that built cities in high areas in bizarre geographical areas, far from potential rivers flows and of riversides. They didn't favor the establishment of populations in bottom areas. The maps elaborated under the conduction of Kuroiwa contain studies of humidity and rock consistency of the floors. Iroiwa emphasizes reinforcement of columns, roofs and walls of houses. Also to endow to the cities of enough evacuation roads. We hope that the next Scientific Encounters of Summer or Winter (ECI), be devoted at least 2 whole days to listen proposals to solve or to palliate this problem overwhelmingly.
CUSCO y FENOMENOS NATURALES
Desde hace 15 dias lluvias intensas, inundaciones de áreas pobladas, de campos agrícolas, destruccion de carreteras, puentes, casas, fuerte oleaje, muerte de animales y humanos, cese del flujo de turistas, quiebra económica, y hasta algunos movimientos sísmicos, mantienen en vilo los departamentos peruanos de Cusco, Puno, Apurimac, Tumbes, Ancash y otros. Aunque es claro que las torrenciales lluvias han sido causadas por el calentamiento de la superficie del normalmente frio mar costero peruano, no se sabe si el fenómeno es consecuencia del calentamiento global o de un Fenomeno del Niño [ENSO (1): El Niño Southern Oscillation], de grado débil a moderado (2). Evaluaciones económicas basadas en daños materiales y perdida de puestos de trabajo, realizadas por oficiales de los gobiernos regionales de las areas afectadas, estiman las perdidas en 1000 millones de dólares y el triple si las lluvias continúan hasta Marzo (4). Considerando al ENSO como un fenómeno cíclico que ocurre con intensidad débil-moderada cada 3-4 años desde hace 11000 años y de gran intensidad cada 50 años, resultaría que las perdidas aculadas durante 100 años, sumarian 100 000 millones de dólares.
¿Porque no invertir entonces?, digamos 5000 millones de dólares en construir preventivamente diques costeros, ribereños, lacustres y eficientes sistemas de drenaje en areas de alto riesgo del Peru. El sismólogo Julio Kiroiwua (3), que ha dirigido la elaboracion de mapas para edificar ciudades viables peruanas, sostiene que el mayor error es construir ciudades urgidos por beneficios económicos mas que por la necesidad de vivir en armonía con la naturaleza. Aprender de los incas que en areas geográficas bizarras construían ciudades en areas elevadas, alejadas de potenciales riadas y de las riberas de los ríos. No favorecían el establecimiento de poblaciones en hondonadas. Los mapas elaborados bajo la conducción de Kuroiwa contienen estudios de humedad, consistencia y rocosidad de los suelos. Iroiwa enfatiza el reforzamiento de columnas, techos y muros de las casas. Asimismo dotar a las ciudades de suficientes vías de evacuación. Ojala que en los próximos Encuentros Cientificos de Verano o Invierno (ECI), se dediquen por lo menos 2 jornadas enteras a escuchar propuestas para resolver o paliar contundentemente este problema.
